Lilibeth Blackthorne

Summary

Lilibeth Blackthorne (Lil) was born near Mosul, Iraq. She was rescued the night before she was to marry her brother's best friend, and smuggled out of the country by Sam Purdy. She was fostered and then adopted by Abigail and Leonard Purdy.

Through Sam and their sister Susan's encouragement, Lil Purdy joined the Emergency Services Cadets. She enjoyed helping people for a change, and decided to pursue a career in health services. After a freshman year scandal that forced her to transfer to another university, she legally changed her name to Blackthorne.

She has a strained relationship with her adoptive mother over this and many other things. Her mother would like her be dependent on her and stay a child, and she was never really either. She's always had a very independent streak, and growing up in a war-torn country meant she'd never really been a child.
